Our Story

The Good Shepherd Foursquare Church in the Kingdom of Bahrain is an affiliate of the International Church of Foursquare Gospel, Los Angeles, USA.

The International Church of Foursquare Gospel has a worldwide membership of over 8 million people, and there are about 60, 000 churches around the globe represented in 144 countries.

Church in Bahrain was founded in the year 1993 by late Senior Pastor Manohar Dare Jeyachandran who was affectionately known as Pastor Jay.

Being a spiritual father, Pastor Jay was gifted to bring together believers and servants of God from different language groups. In the year 2000, the local Good Shepherd Church got affiliated with the International Church of Foursquare. Today the Church is known as Good Shepherd Foursquare Church.

The current leader, Pastor Bhaskaran has been serving the Lord for over 25 years and during his ministry has trained and raised Worship Leaders, Pastors, Elders, and Youth leaders.

The church has also opened its Church Villa to the ‘Vision Theological Seminary Bible College’ to hold their sessions; and as a result, many of the church members including those attendees from various other churches have been benefitted.

Leadership, expounding the word, delegation, compassion, inspiring the youth are the strengths of Pastor Bhaskaran.

The Church had its humble beginnings; in the beginning, the services took place in a house in Manama. The current membership of the church consists of approximately 225 believers made up of Indians, Sri Lankans, Pakistanis, Ghanaians, Kenyans, Ethiopians, Ivoirians, Americans, South Africans, Nigerians, Filipinos and still growing.

The believers have the opportunity to worship together on Friday Morning at Alun Morris Hall at St. Christopher’s Cathedral and each language group gathers separately at Church Villa situated in Segaiah.

Our Beliefs and Values

“Biblical Truths. It’s what the Foursquare Church believes in!”

The Foursquare Church believes that Jesus Christ is the Savior, Baptizer with the Holy Spirit, Healer, and soon-coming King.

We stand firm on the foundations set by Hebrews 13:8, which proclaims:

Jesus Chris the same, yesterday and today and forever.

Our Mission

Raising a dedicated community of believers who are:

  • Rooted in the word of God.
  • Powered by the Holy Spirit.
  • Equipped with gifts and fruit-bearing.
  • reaching the unreached by serving
  • edifying the body of Christ
  • worship God in spirit and in truth
  • living a life acceptable to the lord
  • steadfastly continuing in the Apostolic doctrine
  • proclaiming unity in fellowship, prayers, and breaking of bread.
  • preparing the believers for the soon coming of Jesus.

Evone Bhaskaran

M.Div

Pastor

A schoolteacher becomes an Evangelist, Counsellor, Social Worker, and now a Pastor.

Senior Pastor’s wife Evone Bhaskaran started her career in Bahrain as a School Teacher. Throughout her teaching career, she felt that her calling was not to teach but to be something more for the Lord. In 1998, she got her confirmation when she heard the voice of the Lord to help those who are in need. In obedience, she ended her teaching career and according to Isaiah 61:2 and Proverbs 31:8-90 she ventured into the field of counseling and evangelism, bringing souls to the Lord and reaching out to the needy becoming a voice for the voiceless.

In 2005 she joined the Migrant Workers Protection Society, and currently, she is the Head of the Action Committee.

Pastor Evone assists her husband, who is the Senior Pastor, and together, they serve the Lord and shepherd the flock, which the Lord has entrusted in their hands.
